Sewing Seeds of Joy

What a blessing to find joy each day! Some sources of joy are small and simple, while others represent years of careful, loving work. Below, I strive to share some of the joy I’ve been feeling and creating lately….

• I love textiles and subsequently feel drawn to my local quilt shops and various sewing and quilting events. Though I do little quilting myself – I’m a quilter wannabe, lol –  my appreciation for the time, care and techniques that go into every stitch grows each time I see a handmade quilt. In this short video, I share some of the joy and inspiration I felt at the recent Georgia Celebrates Quilts show. The “Matriotism” exhibit 🇺🇸 was especially moving and left me feeling immense gratitude!!
• Much of my creative energy in June was spent designing the Chef’s Apron Pattern. This simple yet versatile apron is a classic mid-length with completely adjustable neck and waist strap and multiple pocket options. With step-by-step illustrated instructions and a companion sew-along video, this pattern is perfect for both beginners and seasoned sewists! And, who wouldn’t want a beautiful handmade apron for a gift?
• My dear friend inspired this FREE phone tether scrapbuster tutorial. It’s amazing how something so simple can be so essential! In this quick tutorial, I share my process, including some construction tips that help ensure great, lasting results.
